* HERBAL DELIGHTS with Trudy Norris

Sunday 18 July, 11am - 1pm - Join herbalist Trudy Norris on this fascinating workshop. Learn how to make cordials, teas and self help remedies for the summer season.

WILDLIFE DAY

Sunday 25 July, 10am - 5pm - The day will focus on raising the awareness of wildlife all around us. Inside the Visitor centre there will be exhibition stands and displays whilst outside there are numerous family activities from bug hunting to nature trails. Join our special guests from Willow falconry - watch the display and join in on the talk and handling session, which must be booked on the day.

Admission to the country park and visitor centre is FREE! Some activities carry a small charge and must be booked on the day. Please see the timetable of events below:

Thursday 29 July, 11am-3pm - Design your own notepad with bitty body foam friends.

(c) 'AT THE SEASIDE'

Sunday 1 August, 1pm - Be beside the seaside making themed artwork and pictures.

(*) JUNIOR PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Sunday 8 August, 10am-4pm - An excellent chance to get your children into photography, photographing wildlife, plants, insects and landscapes. Suitable for 8-15 year olds. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sunday 8 August, 1-4pm - Learn how to make lovely necklaces, using braiding techniques to create unusual effects and add colour and texture to your finished work.

SUN EVENT

Sunday 15 August, 10am-5pm - Join the experts from East Riding Astronomers, who will demonstrate how to view the sun safely by projecting its image through special telescopes. (No-one should view the sun through any other equipment as instant blindness can result.) Tony Scaife will give a short talk on our magnificent star at 2pm. There will also be the opportunity to purchase special equipment from Green Witch Telescopes, Astrophysics Group and Northern Optics.

Friday 12 November 7pm til late - Join the East Riding Astronomers for an evening of stargazing. Given clear skies we should be able to look at a first quarter moon as well as our largest planet, Jupiter, and perhaps even Uranus which is 2.5 billion miles away! Tony Scaife will also give a talk on the night sky. There will be expert help and advice on hand and equipment available for you to try out.

- Meet at Waters' Edge Visitor reception by 10:30 am.

- Please ensure you park at the main visitors car park so as not to congest the parking area outside the centre.

- Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
